DAVIESS COUNTY

CONSERVATION DISTRICT

Welcome to the Daviess County Conservation District

The primary function of the District is to assist farmers, land owners, and others who participate in making land use decisions in resource conservation activities. This takes the form of encouraging proper use and treatment of renewable, natural resources and making available necessary, technical, and material assistance. This is possible through a close partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). In Daviess County, the Conservation District and NRCS share the same office, personnel, equipment, and supplies to deliver a strong, local conservation program. The mission of the Daviess County Conservation District is to promote the wise use, improvement, and maintenance of the soil, water, animal, plants, air, human and energy resources of Daviess County. We focus on water quality, soils management to limit erosion and run off, and guiding use through project implementation, outreach, and education of best management practices, enhancement, and development to benefit present and future citizens of Daviess County.
